LASEK is typically a surgical treatment that requires a 5-7 days recovery period.
Unlike LASIK, LASEK does not create a corneal flap, but rather removes the epithelium, the outermost layer of the cornea,
and then irradiates the parenchyma with a laser.
At the end of the surgery, a protective lens is placed over the epithelium to allow it to heal,
which takes three to four days to regenerate.
However, 2day CONTOURA LASEK overcomes this disadvantage and enables a return to normal life
in just two days.

The Pain Score (0-15) shows a significant reduction in pain,
with tPRK scoring 5.4, compared to 10.8 for standard LASEK.
For regular LASEK, the epithelial regeneration time is 59.10 hours, while tPRK takes 45.76 hours.
On average, the epithelium is restored within two days.
The recovery speed of uncorrected vision is also faster with 2-Day Contura LASEK.
2-Day Contura LASEK shows a vision of about 0.86 after one week, while regular LASEK is around 0.63.
After 6 weeks, 2-Day Pure LASEK shows results close to a vision of 1.2.
After 6 weeks

CONTOURA LASEK analyses the condition of the patient's cornea through a corneal topography (Topography) test and then carves the cornea based on the test data to even out the shape
of the cornea and correct Irregular astigmatism, resulting in clearer vision.
The difference between Contura LASIK, LASEK and regular LASIK, LASEK lies in the correction of Irregular astigmatism.
Irregular astigmatism is a refractive error caused by an irregular corneal surface, and if not corrected,
it can reduce the perceived quality of vision, even with 1.0 visual acuity.
This is similar to wearing glasses with the correct prescription but an uneven surface.
Irregular astigmatism occurs in most people, although the degree may vary.
If the cornea has an asymmetric or irregular shape,
conventional surgery methods will leave the existing asymmetry and irregularity, leading to persistent Irregular astigmatism.
Irregular astigmatism particularly affects night vision.
CONTOURA LASIK is performed using the Vario diagnostic equipment to image and analyse the shape of the cornea.
Vario diagnostic equipment takes 22,000 points on the patient's cornea and measures the refractive power and steepness of the cornea, creating a precise corneal topography map of each patient's cornea.
Based on the corneal topography, the ideal surgery is scheduled using the wavelight EX500 excimer laser,
which can effectively correct the patient's uneven corneal surface by distinguishing various elevations.
The 2-DAY CONTOURA LASEK surgery improves on the disadvantages of LASEK surgery,
reducing recovery time to just 48 hours and enabling patients to return to normal activities.
The 2-day CONTOURA LASEK with the EX 500 makes a small cut, leaving enough residual cornea to maintain corneal safety.
The surgical range is also very wide, so it is possible to safely operate even very high myopia & astigmatism.
It also prevents the development of abnormalities such as conical cornea, myopia regression,
and corneal opacity that can occur after surgery.
The 2-day CONTOURA LASEK with EX500 White has an in-built cutting program to add 15-20% of laser shots
to ensure 100% peripheral ablation, allowing the cornea to be perfectly shaped.
With a perfectly shaped cornea, the peripheral light converges with the central light for a clearer image,
even when the patient's pupil is dilated.
2 DAY CONTOURA LASEK surgery can reduce the surgery time by using a very fast laser.
Extended surgery time can lead to decreased concentration and decreased eye surgery accuracy.
The EX 500 is as fast as 1.3 seconds per diopter of laser.
The 2 DAY CONTOURA LASEK is equipped with a Neurotracker, enabling it to capture eye movements faster.
Therefore, even patients with severe eye tremors or who move their eyes a lot can have a precise surgery,
providing greater stability and accuracy.
