Presbyopia is a symptom of the lens of the eye
losing flexibility as it ages.
The ability to switch focus between near, intermediate,
and far distances is reduced because the lens has aged
and become less adjustable due to years of alternating
between seeing a lot of distant and near objects.
When reading, eyes get tired
and headache occurs.
Wearing a magnifying glass
will help you see clearly
and accurately.
It is difficult to see
mobile phone texts or
close-up within 30 cm.
Transitions are delayed
when alternating between
distant and near objects.
Difficulty reading text in
low light.
Eyes are cloudy and blurry.
Behind the black of the eye and the iris is the lens,
a transparent piece of eye tissue that acts as the eye's main refractive organ.
Light entering the eye passes through the lens and is refracted to form
a picture on the retina, and cataracts are a disease of the lens that
causes it to become cloudy and unable to pass light properly,
resulting in a foggy, blurred vision.
Things look blurry or
discolored.
It feels like something is
stuck in eyes.
It is difficult to see things clearly, even when wearing glasses or magnifying glasses.
Things appear double or
triple when viewing
with one eye.
Light seems diffused or blinding, making it difficult to open eyes.
Extremely uncomfortable in bright light, with reduced near vision in particular
Most congenital cataracts are of unknown cause
and may be inherited, caused by an intrauterine
infection (an infection that occurs in the fetus
while in the womb), or due to metabolic abnormalities.
Acquired cataracts are the most common form of cataracts that occurs with age, and can be caused by trauma, systemic disease, or inflammation in the eye.
